Fox River Trolley Association (dba Fox River Trolley Museum) Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this policy to help insure that you understand how we collect and use personal information. The following outlines our privacy policy for museum patrons, visitors, guests, members and others who visit the museum’s physical property, ride museum equipment, participate in a museum related event, or otherwise engage with the museum through physical presence or online.

Collection and Use of Information

Non-Personal Information. When you access museum owned or operated websites or social media, the museum may automatically collect certain information, including but not limited to:

  • The name of the Internet domain you used to access the Internet;
  • The IP address of the website from which you accessed our site;
  • The date and time you accessed; and
  • The pages you visited.

This information ("Non-Personal Information") does not identify you personally. We use this non-personal information to monitor the effectiveness of our Internet resources.

Personal Information. Personal information is generally collected to support your access of museum products or services (i.e. purchase of tickets, charter requests, joining or renewing a membership, donations to the museum, etc.). To this end, we may collect personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") which may include your name, family member names, dates of birth, contact and credit or debit card information and other related information necessary to fulfill related functions.

By providing personal information, you consent to our collection and use of it, as described in this privacy policy. We use your personal information to confirm your identity for eligibility for museum related products and services, process related payments and/ or donations and administer your participation in museum events and activities.

We may use your personal information to communicate information regarding products and services we think may be of interest to you, but you may opt out of receiving further communications by unsubscribing or contacting us at info@foxtrolley.org.

Children’s Privacy (Individuals Under 13 Years of Age)

The museum is committed to protecting the privacy of children and encourages parents and guardians to take an active role in their child’s online activities and interests. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this website and affiliated content and services. The museum does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal identifiable information about visitors to our website who are under 13 years of age.

Exception: The museum, its agents or related third parties may take still and/or video images of children, adults, and/ or families at the museum, riding museum equipment or participating in museum-related activities or events for use in legitimate business purposes such as, but not limited to fund raising, and promoting the museum and/ or related activities or events online and/ or in-print.

Third Parties

We may use your personal information to provide aggregate statistics about our users, traffic patterns, attendance statistics, and related information to our business partners and affiliates. Additionally, in the provision of museum related products, services and activities, we may use or otherwise work with third parties and/ or vendors and may share personally identifiable information with such parties as needed to support such efforts.

Ownership of Information

The museum is the sole owner of the personal information collected on or through our website and related properties, and at the museum. Personal information collected from you may be transferred to a third party as a result of a sale, acquisition, merger or bankruptcy involving the museum.

Cookies

Cookies are small files of information that are stored in your computing device’s storage web browser. The cookies we use do not contain any personal information. We place cookies on visitors’ computers to collect aggregate information for site traffic analysis. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, however, you may change the preferences of your browser so that it does not accept them. Note that cookies may be required to fully access museum products or services including, but not limited to ticket and membership purchases or renewals.

Linked Sites

The museum’s website, social media, and other sites may include links to web sites or related content operated by third parties over which we have no control. The museum is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites and encourages you to familiarize yourself with their privacy policies. The museum’s privacy policy does not apply to other websites, and you agree to access such sites are your own risk.

Information Disclosure to Law Enforcement

The museum cooperates with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties, to enforce laws and third party rights, such as intellectual property rights and laws relating to fraud. Therefore, in response to a request by law enforcement or other government officials relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, or other activity that may expose us or you to legal liability, the museum can (and you authorize the Museum to) disclose your personal information and other information about you as the museum, in its sole discretion, believes necessary or appropriate. Your personal information may also be used by the museum when it is reasonably necessary to: (i) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; (ii) enforce applicable sections of any agreement between you and the museum, including investigation of potential violations thereof; (iii) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or, (iv) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of museum, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.

Information Security

The museum uses commercially reasonable precautions to protect your personal information both online and off-line, but absolute security cannot be guaranteed. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your computing devices, passwords, and payment information. The museum shall not be liable for the transfer of any personal information resulting from loss or distribution of data, the corruption of storage media, power failures, natural phenomena, riots, acts of vandalism, sabotage, terrorism or any other event beyond the museum's control.

Acceptance of Terms

Use of the museum website, visiting the museum’s physical property, riding museum equipment, participating in a museum related event, or otherwise engage with the museum through physical presence or online constitutes acceptance of this policy.

Privacy Policy Changes or Updates

The museum reserves the right to update policies or procedures without notice. You agree to be bound by this privacy policy and any modifications to this privacy policy occurring prior to your continued use of the website.
