Fox River Trolley Museum

COME RIDE WITH US at the Fox River Trolley Museum, a nostalgic trip back to an era when the electric trolley car was a vital part of American life. Experience EDUCATION THROUGH DEMONSTRATION the sights and sounds of this unique part of American history aboard a genuine old-time trolley car such as car Aurora, Elgin and Fox River Electric ( AE&FRE) # 304 acquired in November of 2009. This car will take you for a ride just as it did in 1935 over these same tracks on a four mile round trip along the banks of the scenic Fox River and in the Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve. The museum also operates a variety of other antique trolleys, many from lines long vanished, over trackage that once connected Carpentersville, Elgin, Aurora, and Yorkville. A visit to the Fox River Trolley Museum is educational and fun for the entire family. Celebrate birthdays and anniversaries on chartered trains at the Museum.
